Description: C&H Sugar Refining plant

One of a collection of photos presented to the El Cerrito Historical Society by Les Zuerner, retired photographer for Standard Oil Company on night of Sept 13, 1979, during regular meeting ECHS. Photos captioned by ECHS Secretary, George C. Collier. Building pictured was built in 1880 or 1881 as Starr Flour Mill in town of Crockett which was founded in about 1874 by Thomas Edwards and named after his friend Judge Joseph B. Crockett. Also ACC 1991.14 print stamped Photo (print ??) by Charles A. Bohakel. Photo probably c1920 before construction of the Carquinez Bridge.
